Resources to assist you on your STUDY journey
So studying can be a little intimidating if you don't know where to start.. here are some useful links and pages to help you on your way, just click on the buttons.
What can you do NOW
If you a little overwhelmed, do a little daily and slowly build up. Here are a few things you should definitely be trying in the lead up to the HSC:
1) Online Multiple Choice - there is a link you can use below. This is something you can do daily, or more regularly. Try and beat your previous score. You will become more familiar with the style of questions.
2) Use your syllabus - Read through your syllabus with a highlight and a pen. Annotate your syllabus. Make notes of key ideas and more importantly EXAMPLES!!
3) Practice your short & extended responses - There are links below to past exams and the marking criteria. Time your responses. Use the PEE. Practice makes perfect.
4) Come in & get help - Term 4, Week 1 is yours. Come in during your usual class periods. Ask questions, get us to mark some of your responses.

Read this response. It is an excellent example of an extended response that encompasses - health promotion, Ottawa charter and social justice principles. Could be adapted for Core 1, Option 1 or Option 5.

Year 12 Core 1 Flash CardsOnline set of flash cards with key areas covered. I would use this site as a guide and make my own.
Class Flash CardsEveryone received a set of flash cards to cut out and keep on Friday, USE THEM, learn them, memorise them. STAT.
Online Multiple ChoiceThe only way to get better at multiple choice is to keep practising. Use the Board of Studies site, do 20 a day and try to beat your score.

2012 HSC PDHPE ExamUse this exam to test your knowledge and TIME YOUR RESPONSES. General rule: 1 minute per mark it's worth. For example, a 5 mark question should take 5 minutes to answer. Also good to see what terminology they use/

VISIT THE WEBSITE...Bored of Studies.Work smarter. NOT HARDER. Visit this website for all your subjects as it has notes, glossaries, exam sample answers. Be aware teachers (like me) use this website too, so don't copy anything word for word, but it is a good place to get inspiration for STUDYING (even though I know you all have started, right?!?)
